The brain.
When you look, feel or hear something, anything at all to do with your senses, your brain is working, working out what it is, why it is, what it is, and what the threat might hold and hundreds of other things.
Things that if mentioned would take over a whole book or more.
But what if I tell you that they should not be trusted all the time? What if they trick us into just thinking narrow-mindedly?
What do you see?
The picture above will reveal to you how your mind narrows things down, makes it simpler and more direct.
What do you see?
It might be something controversial, as some might say they see a circle, a circle of flame.
Observant people may even notice the two dots of light below the circle.
But only some will mention the dark black background.
Why?
Well, it might be considered a reflex at first, getting the relevant knowledge needed, however, after thoroughly looking back, we tend to see and acknowledge more things.
The experiment you just participated in will show how your mind goes straight to the point, the supposedly ‘obvious’, and yet reveals how observant and keen to detail you might also be.
The mind is something that has and always will baffle many scientists to this day.
The mind is something that people seem to trust too much, at times we truly shouldn’t.
But in some cases, this might be a recomforting thought and may even give you the most logical result, at the time.
However, in some it just shows the weakness in humanity and how we spot what seems obvious (the flame circle) but overlook the even more obvious things (the black background).
It’s fascinating to delve into the many undiscovered wonders of the mind.
The terrific theories, the unanswered hypothesis, and the manipulations of our thoughts and emotions in our decisions.
When you start contemplating all these things you start to realize you shouldn’t only make a solution, agreement or conclusion according to your brain, only, but also your heart and going along with that gut feeling.
Truly the brain is something that will take time to really understand, but till then I suppose we should all start “looking at the bigger picture”.
