Leigh’s squad building has begun in earnest after signing Mick Nanyn for next season.
The Scotland international, who joined Centurions from Harlequins last month, has put pen to paper on a deal that will keep him at the Sports Village until the end of 2010.
“He’s got the remainder of this year and next year as well,” said Leigh coach Paul Rowley of the former Rochdale, Whitehaven and Widnes centre. “I’m looking forward to continuing working with him.”
Leigh have also beaten off competition to the prize signature of Leigh Miners teenager Jonathan Pownall, who can play either centre of full back.
Tonight’s fixtures Northern Rail Cup semi-final: Barrow v Featherstone (7.30pm).
