Leigh Centurions 60 Barrow 0
LEIGH Centurions scored their 15th successive win in the Kingstone Press Championship with a powerful second half performance that brought six of their 11 tries.
Five of those were scored by Liam Kay who enjoyed a superb afternoon; while on his 150th appearance for the club, Martyn Ridyard also kicked eight goals to take him past 1,000 points for the club.
Kay opened the scoring with tries on four and 17 minutes but Leigh did not add to the score until the 35th minute when Andy Thornley scored a try and then Ridyard added his first goal.
Ryan Brierley got the first of his two scores then Kay wrapped up his hat-trick before the break.
The second half brought more possession for Barrow but Leigh always had the upper hand.
First Oliver Wilkes fed Kay for the winger to claim his fourth try before the Centurions scored again before the hour when Sam Hopkins supported Anthony Bate on an incisive run.
After 62 minutes Sean Penkywicz touched down before further scores by Kay and Jonathan Pownall put the icing on the cake for Leigh.
