LEIGH followed up last week's cup heroics by recording a 29-10 win against Featherstone Rovers.
After the sides had been locked at 4-4 at the break, Leigh cut loose in the second half to inflict a rare home defeat on Rovers.
Rovers dominated possession in the first half but Leigh tackled their hearts out.
The Centurions did not have it all their own way as Rovers broke th deadlock on 11 minutes.
It was one of the few times that Rovers got around the Centurions defence in the first forty minutes.
In contrast, Leigh came up with several line breaks with Adam Higson prominant.
The Centurions levelled matters after 19 minutes when Martyn Ridyard, Gregg McNally and Tom Armstrong combined down the left for Liam Kay to score, and that was how it remained until half-time.
Leigh grabbed the first try of the second half when Cameron Pitman ducked a challenge to go in and Ridyard struck the first of four goals.
The Centurions then launched an outstanding attack as Kurt Haggerty split the defence and sent Gregg McNally surging to the line. Ridyard goaled via the post and all of a sudden, Leigh led 16-4.
Rovers were still in the game until the hour when Tim Spears was put on report for a high tackle on McNally.
Leigh made the most of their opportunity when the outstanding Haggerty came up with a brilliant offload for Kay to claim his second score.
Ridyard’s goal opened a 22-4 advantage and when Brierley dropped a goal, the game was Leighs.
Ryan Brierley claimed another try before a flashpoint led to Will Sharp and Matty Sarsfield being sent off and Rovers had the final say when Andy Kain dummied his way over.
