Leigh made the trip to Cougar Park to take on Keighley in the Kingstone Press Championship and continued their 100 per cent record with a last gasp try in a 28-26 win.
Adam Higson proved the match winner, taking Ryan Brierley’s pass to crash over by the flag.
The Centurions began at speed and scored after just two minutes when Tommy Goulden strode through a hole in the defence. Tom Spencer supported and released the ball at the right second for Bob Beswick to stretch over. Martyn Ridyard added the first of four first-half goals only for Paul Handfiorth to send Richie Barnett in at the other end.
Leigh looked threatening but twice sent the ball into touch at the crucial moment. The Centurions did ground their second score after 17 minutes when Ryan Brierley kicked through the line and Tom Armstrong pounced.
Keighley then applied pressure but a mistake from Danny Jones was twice kicked forward by Stuart Littler and Brierley nabbed his 12th try of the season.
Back came the hosts and James Craven got on the end of a fine move to go under the posts for Jones to add his second goal. Ridyard completed first-half scoring with a close range penalty, his fourth goal of the game before seeing a similar effort from halfway drift wide after the hooter sounded.
Leigh led 20-12 at the break and Keighley struck with tries from Daley Williams and Jack Lee while Higson went over for his first try. Danny Jones nudged the hosts ahead with a penalty before the Centurions’ last-gasp heroics.
