MARCUS Williams has followed up winning a world kick-boxing title by becoming a double English Open champion.
We recently reported in Your Sport that the 11-year-old from Heaton won a World Junior Thai Kickboxing Championship junior title in his age and weight category in Spain while representing Great Britain.
Weighing 46k, he continued his superb form by taking the English Open titles in the 45-50k and 50k category.
Marcus, who goes to Bolton School and fights out of the Kearsley Club, won both titles on the same day in Solihull by unanimous decisions.
The event was a qualifier for next year's World Championships in Benidorm – the venue for his recently world title win – but as he is the current world champion he had already qualified.
