Boro's new signing Phil Salt has swapped the relative highs of the Conference North with Hyde United for the lows of the UniBond Premier with Kevin Glendon's men - and he can't wait to get stuck in.
Boro moved to sign the 27-year-old after he became unsettled Ewan Fields and Salt admitted that it was the influence of Glendon's right-hand man Ronnie Evans that persuaded him that coming to the Inn2gether Stadium was the right move.
Salt said: "I know Ronnie from my time at Oldham when he was physio, and then I met him while on holiday a couple of years back and really became friendly with him.
"Ronnie has been on at me to come down here for a long time now and I'm pleased to have finally signed up. I've been training with the lads a few weeks now and can't wait to make my first start."
Salt has extensive footballing experience after a career that has been spent with Oldham Athletic, Scarborough, Leigh RMI and Hyde. In the last three years, Salt was instrumental in Hyde winning two league title and two cup competitions.
And, Salt admits he has come to Boro to win things. The midfielder said: "I saw in my first game (as a sub) against North Ferriby last Saturday that the league position is a false one. The team plays some good football and will get themselves out of danger. Hopefully, we can keep the cup run going and, next season, can be an exciting time for us.
"There's some good young players at this football club and I hope I can help them realise their potential, at the same time as enjoying my football."
Salt, who knows Boro winger Andy Heald from his time at Leigh, has had some injury problems in the past couple of years but believes he is now fully back to his best.
Salt said: "I had some cartlidge taken out of my knee and the injury is fine now. It won't stop me playing or training and I think I'm close to match fitness now."
And, what abilities will Salt bring to the Boro midfield? "I like to sit in and play alot. I have a good range of passing and enjoy taking set pieces," said Salt.
And, Salt couldn't get a better reference from his new manager, Glendon.
The Boro boss enthused: "He is one of the best passers of a football I have ever seen at this level and he has plenty of experience.
"He is a proper Radcliffe Boro player and someone I can't wait to work with."
