RADCLIFFE failed to capitalise on their morale-boosting Lancashire Cup victory over Leigh Genesis, slumping to their sixth successive Unibond Division One North League defeat, despite taking the lead.
Craig Dawson put them ahead with a stunning header from Owen Roberts' corner on 17 minutes.
Griff Jones might have given the hosts a two-goal cushion five minutes later after outfoxing United's 16-year-old keeper Ben Proctor, but he shot weakly with an open goal at his mercy.
Rossendale equalised despite Phil Priestley's double save from Phil Eastwood, but he was powerless to prevent Tom Williams firing home the loose ball a minute before the break.
The visitors took the lead when Boro were over committed to attack on 54 minutes and Williams forced another save from Priestley, but Zach Clark was on hand to fire home the rebound from close range.
United bagged the points with a superb move 15 minutes from time involving Williams and Eastwood and finished off by Graham Vaughan.
