RADCLIFFE Borough go into Saturday's home derby against Salford City in a positive frame of mind after halting a run of three league defeats.
Boro put Saturday’s 3-0 defeat at home to Newcastle Blue Star behind them with a 1-1 draw at Wakefield on Tuesday night.
“I thought we played with a lot of conviction,” said director of football Gerry Luczka. “And we fully deserved to get something out of the game.
“I would have been a lot happier with three points, but having gone 1-0 down to a sucker-punch in the first half, I suppose the important thing was that we didn’t lose the game.”
“After Saturday’s defeat against Newcastle, who were without doubt the best side I’ve seen this season, the lads were a little bit deflated. It was important that we went to Wakefield and gave a good account of ourselves.
“We played with a lot of spirit, commitment and passion and we got something out of it. I thought we had the better chances over the 90 minutes and might have nicked it.
“If we had been a little bit more clinical in the box we could have scored another couple of goals. But we’ve got to be thankful for what we’ve got.”
