Radcliffe Borough 1 Chorley 2 BORO never recovered after a blunder by goalkeeper Greg Hall on 18 minutes allowed Jordon Goodeve to put Chorley ahead.
Hall dropped Rob Henry’s well-flighted left wing cross and Goodeve was there to gobble up the loose ball from close range.
Henry put Chorley further ahead amid a flurry of substitutions on 67 minutes. One of the replacements was last season’s top scorer for Boro, Steve Howson, and he guided Michael Oates's cross into the bottom corner four minutes after his arrival on to the pitch.
Craig Dawson had a header well saved by Chorley keeper Zac Jones in the dying minutes.
In the UniBond Premier Division, FC United lost 1-0 to Boston United in front of 2,825 fans at Gigg Lane.
