RADCLIFFE Borough director of football Gerry Luczka is hopeful of having two new faces in place for the start of his side's pre-season training on July 5.
The UniBond Division One North side are in talks with a striker and midfielder after being boosted by all of last year's squad re-signing to the club.
The final player to decide was striker Griff Jones, who was courted by other clubs but decided to stay at Stainton Park after a successful loan spell at the end of last season.
"It's all a bit tentative at the moment, and I don't like to name names until the ink is dryed," said Luczka.
"But we are confident of bringing in two new faces for the start of pre-season training. We would then be fairly happy with our squad, but you never know what pre-season throws up. It's the nature of the beast that if a player comes along that can better the squad, and you can afford him, you try and sign him."
Radcliffe kick-off their pre-season when they host League Two neighbours Bury on Tuesday July 15 and Barrow on July 19. Trips to Fleetwood Town (July 22) and Wigan Robin Park (July 26) follow, before Boro welcome Hyde United to town on August 2 and round-off their preparations with a visit to Ashton United on Tuesday, August 7.
