WESTHOUGHTON clinched the Bolton Cricket League second-team title with victory over Farnworth Social Circle in a winner-takes-all showdown on the last day of the season.
The men from St Georges Oval produced a dominant performance with the ball at Piggott Park to ensure they secured their eighth second-team league championship trophy in the last 10 years.
Westhoughton won by a healthy margin of 71 runs but it was looking far from comfortable when they were all out for a modest-looking 106 (Kai Hodgkiss 28, Arun Pindoria 18)
They made mistake with the ball, however, as they whittled Social out for just 35 with both Simon Ashcroft and Oliver Dixon taking five wickets.
