LEIGH Centurions face the prospect of a log-jam of four matches in just 13 days, following the announcement of Championship matches scheduled for screening live on Sky TV.

A crammed fixture list now has Leigh playing twice over Easter, followed by a trip to the south of France before hopping back for a re-arranged home game for TV.

Leigh’s hectic schedule sees them playing an Easter double-header on Good Friday, April 10 (Widnes away) and Barrow at home on Easter Monday, April 13. Five days later, April 18, the Centurions are in France for a Saturday evening fixture against Championship debutants, Toulouse Olympique.

Then, on Thursday of the following week (April 23) they face the first of three scheduled TV games when Featherstone are the visitors for a match brought forward from April 26.

Leigh’s other Sky TV games announced are at home to Widnes on Thursday, May 14 – four days after facing one of the competition favourites, Halifax. On May 28, Leigh visit Featherstone for another Thursday night in front of the cameras.

This will be the third consecutive season that Sky has provided coverage for the competition. The broadcaster is planning to show every team in the Championship at least once during the course of the season.

In conjunction with the RFL, Sky has also picked four matches from Championship One to show live. They will again complement their coverage of the Championship by televising one game from each round of the knockout stages of the Northern Rail Cup, including the showpiece final at Bloomfield Road, Blackpool, on July 12.
