Lancashire’s fixtures for next year’s County Championship and One-Day Cup women’s and men’s competitions have been confirmed.
It follows confirmation last week of the fixtures for the Vitality Blast and new Vitality T20 Women’s County Cup and completes a historic county schedule that will for the first time see women’s and men’s county teams play side-by-side in the Vitality Blast and Metro Bank One-Day Cup.
Lancashire Cricket Men’s fixtures have been announced for the Rothesay County Championship, with the Red Rose set to kick off the season away to Middlesex at Lord’s on Friday, April 4.
Six of the club’s seven home matches in the Championship will be played at Emirates Old Trafford, starting against Northamptonshire on Friday, April 11 and concluding against Middlesex in the penultimate game of the season on Monday, September 15 before ending the season away to Glamorgan in Cardiff on Wednesday, September 24.
Lancashire Men will also host Kent at Blackpool Cricket Club’s Stanley Park from June 22-26.
The first block of the new One-Day Cup women’s competition will be played in April and May before returning in July, while the men’s competition group stage will be held in August.
Lancashire Women start the women’s One-Day Cup away to The Blaze at Trent Bridge on Wednesday, April 23 and will play their first home match a week later when they host Hampshire in Southport.
The Red Rose Women will conclude their regular fixtures away to Hampshire at Arundel on Saturday, September 13, with the Utilita Bowl to host the first Metro Bank One-Day Cup Women’s Final on Sunday, September 21.
Lancashire Men have been drawn in Group B of the men’s One-Day Cup, alongside Kent Spitfires, Yorkshire, Somerset, Durham, Warwickshire, Northamptonshire Steelbacks, Middlesex and Sussex Sharks.
The Red Rose Men will open their 50-over campaign against Northamptonshire Steelbacks in Sedbergh on Tuesday, August 5, with another key date set for Tuesday, August 12, when Dale Benkenstein’s side will take on Yorkshire in the Roses Match in York.
Lancashire Men will then make their return to Liverpool Cricket Club for two matches as they host Durham (August 20) and Warwickshire (August 22) at Aigburth before finishing the group stage at Emirates Old Trafford against Middlesex (August 26).
