Although Wanderers weren’t in action this weekend, there were still some interesting results in League One.

Arguably the most noteworthy game took place a Edgeley Park as Stockport beat Wrexham 1-0 thanks to Louie Barry’s moment of magic.

The result sees Stockport climb to fourth in the table, while Wrexham remain third but missed a chance to close the gap to Wycombe and Birmingham.

“There was one unbelievable moment that separated the two teams, that was a top-class finish,” said former Bolton boss Phil Parkinson.

“I don’t think there was too much to separate the teams apart from that. I thought in the second half we had a period where we were going to get back in it.

“It’s been a good run and it’s frustrating that it’s ended because this game means a lot to both teams, the way we have competed over the years.”

Elsewhere, fifth-place Barnsley dropped points against Cambridge as Wanderers loanee Dan Nlundulu got on the scoresheet.

Nlundulu’s strike deflected past Ben Killip inside the opening five minutes, but Stephen Humphrys equalised for the visitors.

“It’s a frustrated changing room, which is a good sign. The performance was worthy of a win but you’ve got to finish your chances,” insisted Barnsley boss Darrell Clarke.

“We’ve got to work on that and improve areas of the game at putting the ball in the back of the net when we get those opportunities, get the final ball right, get the final cross right. Today wasn’t our day. The performance was good, just missing a goal or two.”

Lincoln also had to settle for a point following a goalless draw at Exeter, which leaves the Imps sixth in the table.

The other two games in the third tier finished goalless as Blackpool were held by Northampton at Bloomfield Road, while Crawley left Bristol Rovers with a point.

Saturday’s results leave Wanderers 11th in the table, three points off the top six, although they have at least one game in hand on most of the sides above them.

Next weekend’s opponents, Blackpool, find themselves in 18th place with four wins from 15 matches since the start of the campaign.
