WANDERERS are expected to soon confirm that next month’s game at Rotherham United has been postponed for international call-ups.
Millers boss Steve Evans has been given word that the match, scheduled for Saturday, November 16, will be rearranged because a number of Bolton players will be away on duty with their country.
Josh Sheehan (Wales), Dion Charles, Eoin Toal and Luke Southwood (Northern Ireland) and Szabolcs Schön (Hungary) were all away playing international football in the previous break.
Northern Ireland Under-21s’ Ciaran McGuckin is the only potential call-up on the Rotherham side but Evans has a number of players currently available, including big summer signing Jonson Clarke-Harris and feels he may benefit from some extra time to let injuries heal.
“The indications from Bolton are that the game may be off,” he told the Rotherham Advertiser.
“If we're off, that's good for us. If it's not, we'll do battle here with big Evo and his gang.
“If not, we should come through that little break with some big players coming out of the treatment room and being available.”
Wanderers are making an effort to reschedule any games lost to international call-ups as early as they can but will have to wait for the outcome of Saturday’s FA Cup first round matches to make any firm decisions on Rotherham.
