Wanderers will be aiming to bounce back from a tough night at Birmingham when Peterborough come to town this weekend.

Ian Evatt’s men were beaten 2-0 by the leaders after goals from Tomoki Iwata and Jay Stansfield either side of half time.

The Whites were on a six-game unbeaten run in the league prior to their trip to the Midlands, including five victories.

Team news

Wanderers are waiting on the result of Kyle Dempsey’s scan after the midfielder came off at St Andrew’s with a knee issue.

Eoin Toal could come back in contention if he comes through training with no setbacks and passes the relevant tests.

Nathan Baxter is also close to being back available, although Saturday’s fixture may come slightly too soon for the shot stopper.

Jordi Osei-Tutu is set to return to training next week following a spell on the sidelines with a hamstring problem.

Will Forrester made his return at Birmingham, although Gethin Jones is not quite ready to be called upon.

Opposition lowdown

Peterborough are aiming to build on a big win against Blackpool as they search for consistency in League One.

Joel Randall bagged a brace, with Malik Mothersille, Kwame Poku and Ricky-Jade Jones also getting on the scoresheet on Tuesday night as the Seasiders were brushed aside.

That result leaves Posh 12th in the table and a point above Bolton, who have a couple of games in hand.

Head-to-head

Wanderers have faced Peterborough 16 times in their history, with a record of nine wins, three draws and four defeats.

The points were shared when the sides met on the final day of last season following an eventful 3-3 draw at London Road, with Cameron Jerome scoring a late equaliser.

There was also nothing to separate the sides at the Toughsheet Community Stadium several months prior as Victor Adeboyejo cancelled out Jonson Clarke-Harris’ opener. Bolton played the second half with 10 men after Gethin Jones was sent off.
