Abdul Khan hopes to bring “big time boxing” back to Bolton after making an exciting step in his young career.

The 22-year-old has made a promising start in the sport, winning all 11 of his professional bouts to date.

He is now hungry to keep climbing the ranks after putting pen to paper over a lucrative deal with DAZN.

“It means a lot,” Khan told The Bolton News. “Now, the next stage of my career is to step up the levels and show my true potential.

“I want to show people what I am made of and everything I have been working on since I was young - all the hard work and everything that has gone into it.

“I want to bring big time boxing back to Bolton again. I think the town is not really pushed for boxing as it used to be and I want to put the people of Bolton back on the map.”

Khan watched his cousin, Amir, have a stellar boxing career and is now looking to forge his own legacy.

The youngster has already had a number of fights in his hometown and is grateful for the support that he has received from the local community.

“I have enjoyed every moment of (my career) so far. I have worked very hard, stuck to the process and kept my feet on the ground,” he continued.

“I am making sure that no stone is left unturned and putting everything in at the gym so that I can come out on top.”

Khan is now also working with manager Shane Watson, who is excited about what the future holds for the promising talent.

“I am really excited about getting the deal over the line with Abdul as a manager as well as the promotional agreement with Block One and DAZN,” said Watson.

“This is the start of a long and successful journey with Adbul which I’m sure will include many titles from many different weight divisions. It’s time to make Abdul Khan a superstar and bring big time boxing back to Bolton.”

Khan’s most recent bout was a points victory against Cristian Narvaez at the Bowlers Exhibition Centre earlier this year.

He is set to return to the ring on Friday, November 15 to take on John Edwardson at the Liverpool Olympia, with the Commonwealth Super-Featherweight title on the line.
