Josh Sheehan is eager to sign off with a win against Shrewsbury before heading away on international duty with Wales.
The midfielder has impressed as Wanderers bounced back from a slow start in League One to secure wins against Reading, Crawley and Northampton.
Sheehan wants to keep building momentum heading into the break, where he could get some minutes under his belt against Iceland and Montenegro.
“There will be two weeks until the next (league) game so it is important to get the three points,” he told The Bolton News.
“If we could win four in a row, it would be big for us. We haven’t done that too much this year when maybe we should have, it is a big one.”
He added: “Obviously, it has been a lot more enjoyable the last few games. I think as a team, we have always known how good we are.
“It was almost a reset, mentally, to remember that there wasn’t too much wrong with what we did last year.
“It is just little tweaks from a few games last year that didn’t go our way, just getting back to ourselves.”
There were plenty of positives to take from the performance in midweek as Ian Evatt’s men overcame the tough conditions at Sixfields.
“It was definitely the most complete performance we have had this season,” the 29-year-old continued.
“We played like that for 30 minutes against Reading but at Northampton, it was the most dominant we have been.”
Sheehan set the tone for what was to come with a fine free kick against Reading during Wanderers’ last home fixture a fortnight ago.
The former Newport man was delighted to get on the scoresheet after a tough start to the campaign.
“I think everyone, including myself, was not happy with how it was going and how we were playing,” he admitted.
“We can hold our hands up and say we were not good enough, I don’t think I was good enough at the start of the season.
“It was on us to work hard and get back to what we were doing, and thankfully we have done in the last few games.”
The midfielder played the final 20 minutes at Croud Meadow as the Whites dumped Shrewsbury out of the Carabao Cup earlier this season.
However, Sheehan insists what happened in Shropshire goes out the window once the players step over the white line this afternoon.
“We are just taking it game by game,” he said. “We can’t get too far ahead about other fixtures we have got, we are just thinking about this game and we want to win it.
“They are going to come here and want to win the game, but they might be a bit smarter with it.
“We just have to make sure we play our game, set the tempo and get the fans behind us because we know how important they are to us.
“We obviously played them at the start of the season but we can’t really take that game into any context, we just have to (be ready) on Saturday.”
