Daisy Hill will be looking to bounce back from the disappointment of two defeats in the past week when they host Garstang at the Plumb Factory Stadium in the North West Counties League First Division North tomorrow night (Friday), writes Ian Templeman.

After a tough night at Atherton LR last Friday, Daisy turned in a spirited display in the Macron Challenge Cup tie at Burscough on Tuesday, and the final score of 4-1 to the host was harsh on Lee Hill’s side who competed well against opponents from a higher division.

The Daisy boss is now challenging his players to reproduce the quality his side showed on Tuesday and start picking up league points.

“The performance on Tuesday night gives us plenty to build on for Friday’s game”, said Hill.

“No one expected us to win, so it was a free hit in that sense, but I thought we gave a really good account of ourselves against a team from a higher division, especially in the first half.

“We seem to be either an eight out of ten team or a four out of ten team, and whether that is game to game or half to half, it just seems to be the story at the moment.

“We have to start correcting the mistakes we are making in both boxes, and most importantly start taking the chances we are creating, to get back to picking up league points again”.

Daisy will start as favourites against a Garstang side that are sitting second bottom of the table with only eight points from 14 games, and have picked up only two wins in the league all season.

However, boss Hill is wary of the threat posed by a side who are desperately in need of points to move them out of the relegation zone.

“Garstang are going to be coming into the game hungry, and they will be looking for the three points, given where they are in the league.

“They will probably have looked at our last two results and will fancy their chances, and we expect they will be coming with their tails up.

“So we have to make sure we match that, but at the same time allow our quality to flourish and show through”,

Supporters are asked to note that the kick off time for the game is at 8pm.
