Interim Crawley boss Ben Gladwin is relishing Saturday’s clash with Wanderers after an “insane” couple of days.
Gladwin has been placed in charge of the team after Scott Lindsey, who oversaw promotion from League Two last season, left to take charge at MK Dons.
The 32-year-old returned to the Broadfield Stadium in a coaching capacity over the summer after calling time on his playing career.
“Obviously, (Bolton) had a fantastic season and just missing out, maybe a bit of a slower start trying to recover from that, it often happens,” he told the club channels.
“But it is clear to see they are a very good side with big resources and a big history. We know it is going to be a proper test but we have faced a few of those already this season.
“Sometimes the result has not gone our way but the performance has been fantastic, and that is what we ask of the players.
“We believe nine times out of 10, you get to where you need to be with a good performance so we will going after the same again.”
Crawley took seven points from their opening six matches back in the third tier under Lindsey, including wins against Blackpool and Cambridge.
Gladwin admits it has been “full on” since being placed in interim charge but is enjoying the challenge.
“Loads of new experiences for me, the last 48 hours have been insane and very eye-opening,” he added.
“Taking charge on the grass is a bit different because usually it is supporting the manager, but it was good.
“Trying to support the players through a bit of a transition period and being there, but also preparing for a big game at the weekend is not easy.
“But it is something we have worked hard at and we will go again tomorrow.
“I am excited, it will be a brilliant experience. I think it makes sense in terms of keeping continuity at the football club and helping to support the players, obviously I shared the dressing room with quite a few of them.
“It has been full on and I haven’t had loads of time to think, but I am enjoying it.”
