Daisy Hill face a tough test tomorrow when they host Lower Breck in the FA Vase second qualifying round (3pm).
The visitors sit in third place in the North West Counties League Premier Division, two points off the top of the table, and have lost just once in the league this season.
However, although Daisy manager Lee Hill is well aware of the threat posed by the Merseysiders, he is looking forward to seeing how his players respond to the challenge of going toe-to-toe against a side from a higher division.
“The lads are a little bit hurt after the game on Tuesday night, when we lost to Euxton Villa, so they are looking forward to getting back out on the pitch again,” said Hill.
“We know it’s going to be a tough game, and we will have to expect to defend a lot, but we will prepare for that.
“We have had Lower Breck watched and know a bit about them, but it’s a game no one expects us to win, so it’s all about what we can do, and if we can cause an upset.
“You don’t want to go too gung-ho early on and be out of the game after 20 minutes, so we have to balance that against keeping it tight at the back.
“It’s as good a test as we are going to get this season, and all the lads will have to stand up to it.
“They are all ambitious boys and want to play at a higher level, so these are the sort of games they have to use as a showcase and take the chance.
“We have a full squad to choose from, everyone is available, and we are all looking forward to it.”
If the tie finishes all square after 90 minutes tomorrow, a penalty shoot out will decide the winners.
