A look at more of the former Wanderers who switched clubs this summer, including several deadline day moves.
Will Aimson
Departed Wanderers in January 2023 to join Exeter and has now returned to the North West to sign for Wigan. Made six appearances for the Latics so far this season.
Tom Eaves
Former Bolton youngster who went on to have a decent career in the Football League. Headed to Northampton following a two-year stay at Rotherham but is yet to feature for the Cobblers.
Shola Shoretire
Had a loan spell at Wanderers in the second half of the 2022/23 campaign and has now moved overseas to sign for Greek champions PAOK following a long association with Manchester United.
Amadou Bakayoko
Departed Bolton in January 2022 to join Forest Green and spent last season on loan at Dundee in the Scottish Premiership. Also headed overseas to join Japanese outfit Consadole Sapporo in the J-League.
Tim Ream
Returned to the United States to play for MLS Charlotte following a nine-year spell with Fulham, racking up more than 312 appearances at Craven Cottage. Owen Coyle initially brought the defender to the Premier League.
Luke Mbete
Spent time on loan at Wanderers in 2022/23 and gained experience with Den Bosch in the Netherlands last term. Back in League One after joining Northampton on loan from Manchester City and has played three times for the Cobblers so far.
Nat Phillips
Came through the ranks at Bolton before heading to Liverpool, where he has made 29 senior appearances. Had loan spells with Stuttgart, Bournemouth, Celtic and Cardiff and will spend this season at Derby as the Rams aim to build on last term’s promotion to the Championship.
Gary Madine
Wanderers received a significant fee for the talisman in January 2018 and he went on to have spells at Sheffield United and Blackpool. Now plying his trade at Hartlepool in the National League after a spell without a club while recovering from an ACL injury.
Billy Crellin
Had a tough time at Bolton in 2020/21 but was snapped up by Everton a year later. Made the bench for a Premier League clash with Arsenal and has now headed on loan to Accrington Stanley in League Two to further his experience.
Caleb Taylor
Another former Wanderers loanee who headed out on loan on deadline day, the towering defender will play alongside Aaron Morley at Wycombe this season. Showed promising early signs for the Whites before suffering an ankle injury which kept him sidelined for a couple of months.
Lukas Jensen
Part of Ian Evatt’s League Two promotion winning squad but failed to make a senior appearance for Bolton. Headed to Lincoln last summer and has now earned a Championship move to Millwall after an impressive campaign with the Imps.
Jamie Proctor
Dropped into non-league to play for Southport following his release by Barrow at the end of last season. Also had stints at Rotherham, Wigan and Port Vale among others since his Wanderers exit in the summer of 2017.
Mo Faal
Handed a second chance in the EFL after a tough initial spell with the Whites, having caught the eye while playing for non-league club Enfield Town. One of a number of signings at Crawley this summer as the club aims to build on promotion from League Two.
Ben Jackson
Joined Barrow from Huddersfield for an undisclosed fee and lined up against Evatt’s men at Holker Street on Tuesday night. Scored a memorable winner at Morecambe in the promotion campaign and made 27 appearances for the Terriers last term.
Brandon Fleming
Made 10 appearances for Wanderers in 2019/20 before the campaign was cut short by the pandemic. Went on to have spells at Oxford and Shrewsbury and has now reunited with Grant McCann at Doncaster, having initially played under the 44-year-old at Hull.
Jamie Mascoll
Played nine times for the Whites during the first half of 2020/21 before heading on loan to Waterford in the League of Ireland. Returned to the non-league pyramid with Wealdstone and headed to Folkestone Invicta earlier this summer.
Aaron Ramsdale
Ending with a tedious Bolton link, having been in the club’s ranks as a youngster. The England international headed to Southampton on deadline day after falling behind David Raya in the pecking order at Arsenal.
