Huddersfield owner Kevin Nagle didn’t hold back when giving his verdict on the Terriers’ recent performances.

Tuesday night’s 2-1 defeat against Doncaster in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy made it three successive defeats in all competitions for the Yorkshire club.

Huddersfield actually won their first three league games of the campaign under Michael Duff, who succeeded Andre Breitenreiter following relegation from the Championship.

Wanderers’ next match is against Duff’s side as the Whites aim to bounce back from the league defeats against Charlton and Exeter.

Nagel took to social media after the final whistle on Tuesday night to share his frustrations with the performance.

However, he has "full confidence" in Duff and the players to come back stronger after the international break.

“Not good enough!! Cup or league we need to do better,” Nagel wrote.

“From the players on up and right back down this is NOT the standard. Glad to have a bit of time to work on the issues and come back strong.

“I have full confidence in Michael and the lads to get right back in form. Still in good standing, need to build and never look back.”

Duff previously guided Barnsley to the play-off final before coming up just short against Sheffield Wednesday at Wembley.

The former Northern Ireland defender also had a stint in charge of Swansea in the Championship last term.

After the final whistle at Doncaster, he told the club channels: “I thought it was a game we dominated, Chappy (Jacob Chapman) only had two shots to save really and didn’t have a chance with either.

“Lots of positives, some good stuff and minutes into people who haven’t had a lot of football, blood in a few youngsters.

“Frustrated at the result and a couple of decisions that led to the result but, as a general rule, pretty positive.”
