Daisy Hill FC are throwing open their doors and offering free entry to their game against Route One Rovers at the Plumb Factory Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The club have designated the game as a Community Day event, and representatives from club sponsors and local organisations will also be in attendance at the North West Counties League First Division North fixture.

Daisy Hill committee member, Graham Follows, said: “We are hoping that as many people as possible come down on Saturday to watch the match, support the team and our Community Day.

“We’ve always been a community-focused club, and we already support local organisations such as churches and voluntary groups, who make use of our clubhouse facilities on non-matchdays.

“As a committee, we have been looking at different ways in which we can involve the community on match days, and we all felt that it was worth giving local residents, and football fans across Bolton and beyond, the chance to sample non-league football at Daisy Hill at no cost.

“Also, Bolton Wanderers have no game on Saturday, so we are hoping that some Wanderers fans will also take up the chance to watch some live football action.

“We have often found that when people come to watch a match for the first time, they are pleasantly surprised when they see the quality of football on show, as many players in our league have played at higher levels.

“The bar and tea bar will be open, and there will be refreshments and hot food, match programmes, and club badges all on sale.

“The weather is forecast to be warm and sunny, so hopefully we can get as many people down as possible to make it a great family atmosphere on the day, and give our players some good backing.

“Everyone is welcome, the gates will be open from 1pm and kick off is at 3pm.”
