Daisy Hill will be looking to bounce back from the disappointment of two successive defeats when they travel to face Garstang tomorrow night (7.45pm) in the North West Counties League First Division North.

The 3-2 loss at Maghull on Saturday, where Daisy twice came from behind to level the scores, was a result and performance that led to some harsh words afterwards.

But a trip to face a Garstang side who are second bottom of the league, and have picked up only four points so far, appears to offer Daisy a good opportunity to get back to winning ways.

However, coach Jack Iley says the squad must recover their early-season form if they are to pick up a positive result at the Riverside Stadium.

“One good thing is that we have the game on Wednesday to try and bounce back from Saturday,” said Iley.

“It’s not like we have to dwell on Saturday’s result for the whole week, and training twice without playing a game, so now we have to look at putting it right on Wednesday.

“After a good start, we’ve lost four of the last five games, and we have to be looking at going to Garstang as a chance to go and take three points.

“That’s the position we have put ourselves in after the last few results, we all know that, but Garstang will also be thinking ‘Okay, we are on a bad run, but this is a chance for three points for us’.

“They will go into the game feeling they have a chance of winning against us, too, and as a team and as a squad we need to put that right, and take steps to turn that perception of us around.”
