Former Wanderer Brandon Fleming is excited for his latest chapter in the EFL after joining Doncaster Rovers on a season-long loan from Hull City.

Fleming, who made 10 appearances for the Whites during the 2019/20 campaign, played under Grant McCann at Hull and now links up with the 44-year-old at the Eco-Power Stadium.

“This one got done pretty quickly and I’m really happy to be here,” he told the club site. “I’m excited to come in, try to get in the team and play some games.

“I know how the gaffer and Cliff (Byrne) work and how they train. I was with them for a few years and they were really good for me.

“The gaffer gave me a chance at 19 in the Championship and I learned a lot from those games. I’m really happy to be here with them.”

Doncaster are aiming to build on last season’s fifth-place finish in League Two before coming up short against Crewe in the play-off semi-final.

McCann added: “We’re delighted to be able to bring in Brandon and we’re really thankful to Terry Bramall and Gavin Baldwin for supporting us.

“Once we got the disappointing (injury) news on James Maxwell, it was important we kept the left-back position strong and competitive.

“Brandon is a player we know well. He’s a really good character that will fit right into our changing room.

“He played a huge part in our Hull team that won League One and has had two loans since at that level with Oxford and Shrewsbury.

“He comes with good experience of the Championship and League One and is a positive full-back who likes to get forward and beat people. He’s excellent in one-v-one situations, both attacking and defending. We send huge thanks to all at Hull for helping us get the deal done.”

The Yorkshire club are back in league action this weekend when they head to Rodney Parade to take on Newport.
