The team have also confirmed their first official signings since moving under club operations.

Defender Katie Holt, a lifelong Wanderers supporter who has had spells with Blackburn Rovers and Chorley, will captain the side.

Attacking midfielder Charlotte Tyers, who started out at Leicester and had stints at Tranmere and Chorley, will also be part of the squad.

“I am delighted to welcome both Katie and Charlotte to the club as our first signings,” said Smith.

“With the ambition we have here, we want to build a squad that is capable and ready to progress with us as we grow and I’m confident that both Katie and Charlotte fit that profile perfectly.

“These signings are a big step forward for us and is a perfect indicator of the excitement surrounding this project and the attraction of playing for Bolton Wanderers Women – with players wanting to move further down the leagues to be part of this journey.

“It was also an easy decision to make Katie Holt our captain for this season. As a Bolton fan who both lives in the town and works for Bolton Council, she knows exactly what it means to represent this football club – making her the perfect candidate to take this team forward on the field.”
