Former Wanderer Mo Faal is determined to make the most of his second chance in the EFL after penning a short-term deal at newly-promoted Crawley Town.
Faal initially made the step up from non-league to join the Whites in 2020 after catching the eye while playing for Enfield Town.
However, he made just two first-team appearances at the Toughsheet Community Stadium and was released following a loan spell at Barnet.
The 27-year-old striker has now signed an initial six-month deal at the Broadfield Stadium as Crawley aim to build on last season’s promotion from League Two.
“I am buzzing. It has been something I have been waiting on for a while so I am just happy to be here,” he told the official club channels.
“About two weeks ago I heard from my agent that there could be interest from Crawley. It got done pretty quickly, they wanted to do it and I wanted to do it. It was pretty straightforward.”
“I feel like I have gained the experience that is needed throughout this journey, with the highs and more importantly the lows,” he continued.
“I have seen how volatile football can be but how joyous it can be as well. I think this is one of those moments and I will be taking the lessons I have learnt over the years and bringing them here.
“I know it is going to be a lot of hard work and discipline, it is going to be tough but I am more than ready for the challenge."
Faal returned to Enfield following his Bolton exit and rediscovered his prolific form. He also had a stint at Havant and Waterlooville before heading on loan to Maidstone for the second half of last season.
Crawley kick off the new season with a home fixture against Blackpool, who narrowly missed out on a play-off spot last term.
"There are a lot of clubs I am ready to play against but I am more excited to show what I can do," said Faal.
"I think this season - for me and for the club - it can only be a good thing. We shouldn't be underestimated, we showed what we can do last season and why can't we do it again this year?"
