WANDERERS have smashed through the 20,000 barrier on ticket sales for next weekend’s League One play-off final against Oxford United.

The club has now taken a big chunk out of their 36,550 allocation for Wembley as they go into ‘phase three’ of sales on Monday, where tickets are available to any supporters who have a registered account with the club.

Tickets went on sale on Thursday morning to season ticket holders for the game, which will take place on Saturday, May 18 (kick-off 4.15pm).

“You are backing the lads in your numbers for our play-off final, with a week to go. Thank you!” read a message on Wanderers’ official Twitter/X account on Saturday.

The third and final phase runs from 10am on Monday, May 13 where anyone who had registered an official account with the club before May 7 will be able to order tickets.

There are six separate categories for ticket prices, starting from £31 for adults, £23.25 for 17-21s, and £15.50 for Over-65s and Under-16s. The highest category is priced at £86 for adults, £64.50 for 17-21s, and £43 for Over-65s and Under-16s.

Wanderers took 34,000 to the Papa Johns Trophy final last season – but fans were able to take advantage of vastly reduced ticket prices for the competition.

Followings of around 25,000 went to the FA Cup semi-finals of 2000 and 2011, and 24,000 went to Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium for the 2001 play-off final against Preston.

Around 30,000 fans followed Bolton down to Wembley for the 1999 play-off final against Watford and the 2004 Carling Cup final against Middlesbrough.

Between 33-34,000 Bolton tickets were sold for the 1995 League Cup final against Liverpool, with just under that total also turning out a few weeks later for the victory against Reading in the play-off final.

Bolton have also reported brisk sales of Wembley merchandise at the club, with a new stock of hoodies, T-shirts, sunglasses and hats added on Saturday.

The club has also commemorated the popular ‘Waterfall’ chant which rose to prominence in the semi-final win against Barnsley with some special edition goodies. Merchandise can also be bought online here.

After opening its doors from noon to 4pm on Sunday, the club shop will be open on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 9am to 5.30pm and from 9am to 7pm on Thursday. It will be closed on the day of the game.
