Bury boss Dave McNabb hailed a “moment of brilliance” from Tanaka Cherera to send the Shakers to the play-off final.
Cherara beat Harry Moss with a superb strike from distance three minutes into the second half and it proved to be the decisive moment in the contest.
“When you have got tight games like that, you think the game is going to be won or lost either through a mistake or moment of brilliance,” said McNabb.
“I am just glad tonight was through a moment of brilliance because I don’t think either side deserved to make a mistake, and no individual deserved to be someone who was at fault.
“What a goal, what a strike and what a player as well. I am made up.”
The Shakers will now come up against Wythenshawe Town in the final on Saturday after they beat Padiham 1-0.
McNabb hopes his players can use the scenes of jubilation after the final whistle as motivation to go one step further.
“I think our challenge now is to harness the feeling from tonight” the manager continued.
“We bottled that feeling from the game against Padiham a couple of weeks back and I certainly don’t want to ever feel like that again.
“Today is the aim, that feeling at the end of the game is what we are aiming for going forward. If we are singing and dancing with the fans on Saturday, I will be more than happy.”
