WANDERERS (3-1-4-2).
NATHAN BAXTER…6.5.
Beaten three times but came up with some big saves in the second half when Peterborough started to swarm Wanderers’ left side.
GETHIN JONES…5.5.
Tough day at the office. Gave as good as he got for most of the first half against Mason-Clark, beaten only once. Bit scrappy with the ball after the break.
RICARDO SANTOS…8.
Won virtually every set piece that came into the penalty box and his covering defending was important too. Rested well before the end to keep him play-off fresh.
EOIN TOAL…6.5.
Had a solid game overall, even if he was fraying at the edges a little towards the end. Never a comfortable ride against Peterborough’s pace.
JOSH SHEEHAN…7.
Had a tidy game and won his battles. Probably should have been taken off for his own protection with some tasty challenges knocking around in midfield.
JOSH DACRES-COGLEY…5.5.
Frustrating day for the Wanderers wide man, who got into some decent positions but never quite managed to find the right ball. Defensively it was always going to be a test.
GEORGE THOMASON…5.5.
Got involved, won the ball back plenty of times, but he was unusually wasteful once he had won it. Need him to get back into the groove.
KYLE DEMPSEY…7.
Superb in the first half and took his header wonderfully well. It was a big day after Maghoma’s withdrawal from the squad, and Dempsey came up with a solid show.
RANDELL WILLIAMS…7.
Looked like the player most likely to make something happen. He got an assist, won a penalty and caused no end of problems early on. Defensively, he did have issues after the break.
DION CHARLES…7.
Looked like the Dion of old in the first half and the penalty got him going again in the goal stakes. Great timing for the play-offs.
AARON COLLINS…6.
Often drifted wide to get involved and showed a couple of classy touches. The pitch never seemed to agree with him, though.
Subs: Morley 6, 66 (for Thomason) – Tried to get Bolton going again.
Jerome 75 (for Charles), Nlundulu 75 (for Collins), Ogbeta 81 (for Williams), Taylor 81 (for Santos).
Not used: Iredale, Ashworth.
MAN OF THE MATCH – Ricardo Santos.
Loves going back to his former club and looked in good touch after a short spell out.
Won so much in the air and turned on the afterburners a couple of times to snuff out bursts that got past Jones or Toal.
MOAN OF THE MATCH – The second Peterborough goal felt offside live and looked worse on a replay. Quite alarming how differently the two halves were refereed but Posh were worth a share of the spoils.
MAGIC MOMENT – Wanderers’ away support was magnificent as the players left the pitch, hitting exactly the right tone when they were needed the most. That’s what you are playing for, lads.
Peterborough (4-2-3-1): Steer; Katongo, Knight, Edwards, Burrows; Kyprianou, Collins; Ajiboye, Randall, Mason-Clark; Mothersille.
Subs: Dornelly 58 (for Katongo), Clarke-Harris 81 (for Ajiboye), Fernandez 88 (for Mason-Clark).
Not used: Bilokapic, De Havilland, Olakigbe, Wakeling.
Referee – Bobby Madley 7/10: No qualms with the first half referee, who despite blowing up for a few too many fouls, at least got the major calls right. His replacement at half time Scott Tallis (5/10) was a different kettle of fish.
Attendance: 11,643.
