Derby boss Paul Warne reckons more sides in the League One promotion race will drop points before the end of the season.
The Rams currently sit second in the table but were held to a goalless draw at Wycombe on Wednesday night.
That result means Wanderers’ destiny is back in their own hands ahead of a crunch match against leaders Portsmouth this weekend.
“I will be surprised if anyone in the top six wins their last four or five games,” Warne told the club’s YouTube channel.
“It doesn’t mean that we are not all trying to, the pressure is no different on us than it is for Portsmouth, Bolton, Peterborough.
“Everyone is trying to win football matches and you just have to look at the results in recent weeks of different teams dropping points.”
Derby failed to make their early pressure pay against the Chairboys and Warne admitted there was frustration not to take all three points.
“I think we had really good chances first half that we didn’t take and the longer the game goes on, you get more frustrated,” he added.
“We had to try and calm the lads down at half time and ask them to play with more calmness. Second half, we didn’t create enough chances.
“We had enough corners, free kicks and crosses into the box but it didn’t fall to us, and sometimes it is like that.
“The only problem is the importance of trying to win every game, but we will have to try and bounce back on Saturday.”
The Rams are back in action this weekend when they welcome Leyton Orient to Pride Park. Warne’s side also have matches against Cambridge and Carlisle before the end of the campaign.
“All we can do is always set up to try and win and hope the lads are bang on the money,” said the manager.
“We don’t know if two wins will be enough, one win, no-one knows because we don’t know what the other teams are going to do.
“It is more disappointing because it has come out of our hands a little bit, and that is crucial. It feels like we have let one go, which is disappointing.”
