Reading boss Ruben Selles is prepared for a “difficult” afternoon against Wanderers – but insists they will be fighting to take all three points back to Berkshire.

The Royals enter the game in high spirits following back-to-back victories against Cambridge and Northampton.

Those results have given Selles’ side a six-point cushion over the relegation zone heading into the final six games of the season.

“Every game is important, but you can’t be on the top of every game,” said the Reading chief. “I think the boys are doing an extraordinary job sticking as a team and competing.

“We want to keep improving as a collective and I think we have more to offer. It is good to have won two games in a row, and now we just need to keep going because the job is not finished yet.

“Bolton is going to be a completely different game to (Northampton). Away from home, we have experience from Derby a couple of weeks ago where we can learn from that game – we expect it to be similar.

“It was a difficult game when we played Bolton earlier in the season here and they are a powerful team challenging for the automatic promotion position.

“We will go there and will be trying to get the three points. We are non-stop. Saturday is a day off for the players and we will work on how we can create the best gameplan to beat the opposition.”

Reading have now won three of their last five league matches, making sure that their destiny is in their own hands heading into the run-in.

Despite their victory against Northampton on Good Friday, Selles believes there is still more to come from his side as they prepare to face the Whites.

"I don’t think I got a big performance. I think I got a massive result, but I don’t think we got a massive performance.

“It was not our best game, nowhere near to be good enough from any of us. It was an equal game with both teams having chances. I think Northampton are a good team, very solid, but I expected a bit more from us.”
