Trio success at Two Crosses
Winter Hill Runners Albert Sunter, Abigail Sunter and Melissa Anglesea took part in Two Crosses event last weekend and recorded good times.
Organised by the East Lancashire Group of the LDWA (Long Distance Walking Association), the Two Crosses is a route through the West Pennine Moors taking in the Roman Cross at Affetside and the Pilgrim’s Cross at Bull Hill, passing Turton Tower and the Turton and Entwistle Reservoir.
The Two Crosses LDWA event in Lancashire is a challenging, yet rewarding, walking and running event that takes participants through the scenic landscapes of Lancashire.
Participants trek through rugged terrain and historic landmarks, encountering two prominent crosses along the way.
The event typically offers two route options - 18 miles and 26 miles - both of which are physically challenging.
Abigail Sunter and Anglesea both opted for the 18-mile route with Abigail finishing first lady and fifth overall in a fantastic time of 3hrs 14mins, with Anglesea following in 4:38:00.
Albert Sunter, fresh from competing in the Haworth Hobble just the week before, finished the 26-mile route in a great time of 5:15:00.
