WANDERERS (3-5-2).
JOEL COLEMAN…6.
Blotted his copybook somewhat when he clattered into Sam Vokes for the 97th minute penalty because he had made some decent saves to that point.
GETHIN JONES…7.
An outlet on the right, a superb header to open the scoring and pretty reliable in possession too, all adds up to a good night’s work.
EOIN TOAL…6.
Defensively sound after being moved back into the middle of the back three but some of the longer-range distribution required some work.
JACK IREDALE…7.
Restored to the back three and came up with one of his best performances of the season. Didn’t take a backward step all night.
JOSH DACRES-COGLEY…7.
Looked re-energised after being left out at Northampton and was probably Bolton’s most effective attacking player over the course of 90 minutes.
PARIS MAGHOMA…6.5.
A few flashes of his best stuff with ball at feet, and some graft out of possession too. It didn’t all come off but this was a step in the right direction.
AARON MORLEY…6.5.
Tasked with playing the deeper midfield role, Morley got through plenty of defensive work and made some good choices. Close with a free kick too.
KYLE DEMPSEY…7.5.
By his own admission, out of sorts on Saturday, but this was much more like it. Bustled around and worked especially well down the right with Jones and Dacres-Cogley.
NAT OGBETA…6.
Didn’t see quite as much possession as those on the right flank but came up with a cracking cross for Jones to open the scoring.
DION CHARLES…6.
Fingers crossed the knee issue that forced him off in the second half is not anything serious. Worked hard with little service at times.
AARON COLLINS…6.
Wasn’t a night that played to his strengths and, like Charles, worked hard for the possession he got. But some classy touches in there on his first start.
Subs: Adeboyejo 6, 57 (for Charles) – Looked up for it.
Bodvarsson 7, 65 (for Collins) – Class, class finish.
Ashworth 6, 65 (for Ogbeta) – Dug in for the result.
Ramsay 87 (for Dacres-Cogley), Mendes Gomes 87 (for Maghoma).
Not used: Sheehan, Taylor.
MAN OF THE MATCH – Kyle Dempsey.
Bounced back after a bang average performance at weekend to drive things in midfield during the second half and get Bolton going.
MOAN OF THE MATCH – Wanderers were pretty scrappy in possession at times, especially in the first half. Attempts to isolate Charles and Collins with the two marking defenders were very hit and miss.
MAGIC MOMENT – It has been a long time since we heard a Thunderclap at the Toughsheet Stadium and the fans didn’t miss a beat.
Wycombe (4-2-3-1): Stryjek, Tafazolli, Butcher, Leahy, Campbell, Low, Potts, Taylor, Sadlier, McCarthy, Lubala.
Subs: Vokes 56 (for Lubala) McCleary 56 (for Sadlier), Lonwijk 70 (for McCarthy), Wheeler 70 (for Campbell), Kone 82 (for Taylor).
Not used: Ravazolli, Earley.
Referee: Will Finnie 7/10 – After the Northampton game we needed a safe pair of hands, and the Luton-based official managed things quite capably. His tolerance level was pretty high too – with th first yellow card coming out very late in the game for Low.
