George Thomason is absent from the Wanderers squad against Wycombe due to suspension.
The midfielder was shown a straight red card by referee Jeremy Simpson for a foul on Aaron McGowan during the 1-1 draw at Northampton. The Whites went on to claim a point on the road, with Carlos Mendes Gomes coming off the bench to score his first Bolton league goal.
Wanderers had appealed the decision and the FA are yet to make an official announcement on the verdict, but Thomason will play no part against the Chairboys.
Speaking on Monday afternoon, Ian Evatt said: “I still believe it is not a red card, and I would call it how it is.
“Regardless of him initially leaving the floor to stretch to get it, on point of contact there is one foot, it is facing downwards, he wins the ball and doesn’t make contact with the opponent.
“I thought the referee was extremely poor on Saturday, that was a poor decision.
“You can speak about reputations and there is clearly one forming now that George doesn’t like. We have had this conversation and there is nobody more upset than him about that. Only he can change it.
"But he is in no way, shape or form a dirty player. He wants to play the game tough but fair and I think that is the right side of the line to be on."
