Wanderers will be keen to maintain their ground in the League One promotion race when Wycombe come to town.

Ian Evatt’s men drew 1-1 at Northampton over the weekend despite playing more than half of the game with 10 men after George Thomason was shown a straight red card for a foul on Aaron McGowan. Carlos Mendes Gomes headed home the equaliser after coming off the bench.

The Whites have three games in hand on leaders Portsmouth and two on second-place Derby heading into the business end of the campaign.

Ricardo Santos is back on the grass and could return to action next week after missing several games with a calf problem.

Randell Williams is also back on the grass following a longer spell on the sidelines with a torn hamstring.

Wanderers are having to be cautious with Nathan Baxter. The goalkeeper had been keen to play through the pain after tearing a ligament in his wrist but the injury hasn’t settled as expected.

The FA are yet to confirm the outcome of Thomason’s appeal, while George Johnston and Dan Nlundulu are long-term absentees.

Wycombe enter the game in high spirits following an emphatic 5-2 win against promotion hopefuls Peterborough at Adams Park.

Jack Grimmer, Kieran Sadlier and David Wheeler got on the scoresheet against Posh, as well as own goals from Archie Collins and Nicholas Bilokapic.

The Chairboys have won three successive matches in all competitions and currently sit 15th in the table.

Wanderers have only faced Wycombe seven times in their history, with a record of two wins and five defeats.

Evatt’s men ran out 4-2 winners at Adams Park in October after goals from Paris Maghoma, George Thomason, Eoin Toal and Aaron Morley.

The Whites also came out on top when the sides last met at the Toughsheet Community Stadium in August 2022. Kyle Dempsey bagged a brace that day with Morley again on target.
