A Bolton Wanderers fan who has worked in China for five years thought he was finally going to see his team play again - only for the match to be called off after nine minutes.
Andy Bebbington, from Kearsley, is a lifelong Whites fan and prior to working abroad as an English teacher five years ago he had a season ticket to eight years ago.
The 36-year-old is back in the country for two weeks.
And on Tuesday he travelled with his father to Cambridge hoping to see his team play once again.
The flight from China had taken 20 hours and the drive to East Anglia took another four hours.
So after the equivalent of a full day of travelling Mr Bebbington was excited to see his team.
However the game away at Cambridge United was called off after nine minutes after a torrential downpour prior to kick-off.

Mr Bebbington said: "It was the correct decision to call it off.
"I thought 'this is just my luck.'
"The fans at the ground were fantastic. When it was called off they were still singing.
"I am hoping to get to Northampton but if not I will see them play Wycombe at the Toughsheet."
