Arran Pettifer has completed a permanent move to St Patrick’s, ending a 12-year association with Wanderers.
The midfielder progressed through the ranks at Bolton and made a couple of first-team appearances in the EFL Trophy during the 2021/22 campaign.
He also impressed during a loan spell at Atherton Colls as he gained valuable experience of senior football.
Pettifer has been training with St Patrick’s for several weeks and has now put pen to paper ahead of the League of Ireland season, which begins next month.
"I'm delighted to be here, it's a massive club in Ireland and it's a brilliant move for me at this stage of my career” he told the club website.
“I've been looking for an opportunity to move into senior football and once I heard Pat's were interested, it was a no brainer to come here.
“I joined Bolton when I was eight and went all the way up through the ranks there and had some first team experience too, in terms of training and being in squads.
“I went away with the first team for pre-season and was on the bench in the league a couple of times and played in the Papa Johns Trophy, so I've had really good experiences there and I'm looking forward to the next steps in my career now with St Pat's.
“My time at the club so far has been excellent, I've settled in well living with a couple of the lads.”
Manager Jon Daly is pleased to add Pettifer to his squad and has been impressed by what he has seen from the youngster so far.
He added: "We are delighted that Arran sees the next step in his development with us at St Pat's.
“He comes with a great schooling at Bolton Wanderers and has some fantastic attributes that we feel will help the team and squad as a whole as we head into the new season in a couple of weeks.
“He's the type of player we've been looking to add to the squad and he's done really well in training and in the games he's played in.
“We've got a really good group and Arran has settled in well so far, along with our other new recruits, we're looking forward to working with him."
