Blackpool stand between Wanderers and a place in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy semi-final as Ian Evatt returns to his former stomping ground.
Evatt’s men are aiming to become the first side to win the competition in back-to-back years following last season’s memorable victory against Plymouth in front of nearly 80,000 supporters at Wembley.
The Whites beat Accrington 3-1 in the previous round thanks to goals from Cameron Jerome, Aaron Morley and Kyle Dempsey.
Meanwhile, Blackpool reached this stage following a 2-1 victory against Burton. Matty Virtue and Marvin Ekpiteta were both on target that night.
The Seasiders were held to a 1-1 draw against Charlton in the league at the weekend despite Ekpiteta’s opener.
When and where is the game being played?
The tie takes place at Bloomfield Road on Tuesday, January 30 (7pm). The Whites came out on top at the Toughsheet Community Stadium in November thanks to George Thomason’s thumping strike.
Wanderers were beaten 2-1 on their last trip to the Fylde coast in February 2020 despite Kean Bryan’s late goal.
