WANDERERS (3-5-2).
NATHAN BAXTER…7.5.
Second game that he has kept up his end of the bargain while questions can be asked elsewhere. Came up with some big saves when called upon.
EOIN TOAL…6.
Some nervous moments on the ball early on but he corrected his ledger with some brave defending towards the end to keep the clean sheet.
RICARDO SANTOS…6.5.
Not a vintage display on the ball, this was just a muck and nettles job. Some important blocks and clearances when the pressure was on.
JACK IREDALE…5.5.
Not an easy night for the Australian, who saw plenty of traffic down his side and didn’t exactly excel in possession. Chipped in towards the end with the defensive effort, mind.
JOSH DACRES-COGLEY…6.5.
Very bright in the opening exchanges and looked Bolton’s best bet early on for opening the visitors up. Some dangerous crosses into the penalty box too.
JOSH SHEEHAN…5.5.
Didn’t really get started in a game that didn’t really play to his strengths. Wanderers never got control of the game, so he didn’t shine.
GEORGE THOMASON…5.5.
Now facing a two-game ban – and didn’t really have a great night on the ball. Never stops working but needs to be smarter.
PARIS MAGHOMA…5.5.
Looked frustrated as he went straight down the tunnel after being subbed in the second half. Having a lull in form and needs to play through it.
RANDELL WILLIAMS…6.
Some bright moments on the ball and his pace certainly caused Cheltenham a few issues. But looks to have picked up another hamstring issue.
DION CHARLES…6.
Worked hard to try and hassle mistakes and had one decent chance early on. The few moments he linked-up with Adeboyejo were among the brightest on the night. Might have had a penalty too.
VICTOR ADEBOYEJO…6.5.
Got the goal, crucially, and made sure the visiting defence knew it had been in a game. One of the better showings on the night.
Subs: Bodvarsson 75 (for Charles), Dempsey 75 (for Maghoma), Jerome 80 (for Adeboyejo), Ashworth 88 (for Williams).
Not used: Coleman, Morley, Matheson.
MAN OF THE MATCH – Nathan Baxter.
Once again, the Wanderers keeper did his job with the minimum of fuss. A couple of very decent saves when Cheltenham were on the offensive.
MOAN OF THE MATCH – Wanderers made such a bright start, looking well up for it after 20-25 minutes. And then, not a great deal after the Adeboyejo goal.
MAGIC MOMENT – Randell Williams chasing a long ball at double quick pace to get there before the Cheltenham defender in the second half. Looked like he was on fast forward.
Cheltenham (3-5-2): Southwood; Freestone, Davies, Bradbury; Long, Pett, Bonds, Sercombe, Ferry; Street, Lloyd.
Subs: Oyedeji 68 (for Bradbury), Keena 68 (for Street), Harrop 77 (for Sercombe) Not used: Paddington, Smith, B Williams, Thompson.
Referee: Ben Speedie 6/10 – Ian Evatt claimed his offside call to rule out Lloyd’s goal was the correct one – but there was much to debate on a very scrappy night for all involved.
Attendance: 19,309.
