WANDERERS (3-5-2).
JOEL COLEMAN…6.
Made one important save in the second half at 2-1 and dealt with most shots very competently. On the ball he looked a little rusty – but understandable in the circumstances.
WILL FORRESTER…6.5.
Nearly scored at the start of the second half and continued with the sort of no-fuss defending we have come to expect from him.
EOIN TOAL…7.5.
He does seem to like dropping into the middle when Santos isn’t in the side. Captain for the night for commanding in the air and brought the ball out well.
JACK IREDALE…6.
Back for his first game since before Christmas and with their liveliest player, Jack Nolan, looking to cause problems at every turn, it was a busy night for the Australian.
LUKE MATHESON…6.5.
Worked extremely hard up and down the right. Didn’t all come off, and he had a couple of chances to score, but another encouraging 90 minutes.
PARIS MAGHOMA…6.
Will hold up his hands for the Accrington goal. Should have played safer outside his own box. On the upside, he won the penalty with his quick feet.
AARON MORLEY…6.5.
Nobody else was having that penalty. Another positive performance from the midfielder, who dropped in to do the defensive side well too.
KYLE DEMPSEY…7.5.
His best display since coming back from injury, capped off with a screamer towards the end. Might have had a hat-trick on another night.
ZAC ASHWORTH…6.
With one eye on Nolan, Ashworth didn’t get too many opportunities to push on and test himself further forward. A solid return to the side, nonetheless.
JON DADI BODVARSSON…7.
Accrington couldn’t get near him in the last 20 minutes of the first half and though the service slowed, his experience helped see the game through.
CAMERON JEROME…7.
Off the mark for Bolton, which will please him no end. His last action was to sprint back 40 yards to stop a counter attack. Huge ovation from the travelling support on his way off.
Subs: Sheehan 72 (for Maghoma), Adeboyejo 72 (for Jerome).
Not used: Baxter, Santos, Charles, Dacres-Cogley, Williams.
Accrington Stanley (4-2-3-1): Walsh; O’Brien, Gubbins, Hills, Shipley; Conneely, Martin; Nolan, Pritchard, Henderson; Woods.
Subs: McConville 81 (for Conneely) Not used: McIntyre, Mellor, Quirk, Pickles, Adekoya, Trickett.
Referee: Robert Madley 7/10 – Kept things nice and sensible. His one big call was the penalty, which looked a fairly straightforward award. Very decent night’s work.
Attendance: 3,441 (2,346)
