WANDERERS (3-5-2).
NATHAN BAXTER…7.
Lincoln didn’t really test him with anything significant – but there were a few moments in the first half where he had to be quick, and accurate, with his feet. Passed the test.
GETHIN JONES…7.
There were eyes on him after Forrester dropped to the bench but he combined well with Dacres-Cogley, with nearly two-thirds of his passes coming in the opposition half.
RICARDO SANTOS…7.5.
Back in the side and, thankfully, looking a lot more like himself. Dangerous at set pieces, snuffed out anything looking to break into the Bolton half. Standard.
EOIN TOAL…8.
Came up with another Lincoln moment to cap off what has been a fantastic year. Importantly, Toal had also looked more settled in possession.
JOSH DACRES-COGLEY…7.
Roamed a bit more than usual, linking up in the central areas and even drifting over to the left. Good to see the zip in his step again.
PARIS MAGHOMA…6.
Just couldn’t seem to get going on the ball, which has been a rare mis-step for him in the last few months. Didn’t stop working even when things didn’t pay off.
AARON MORLEY…6.
Saw lots of the ball but emerged with a pass success rate of 80 per cent – which by his high standards was slightly below the best. A few sloppy passes caught the eye.
GEORGE THOMASON…7.5.
Some of his work in the first half was off the chart. Tried passes that nobody else would, tracked every inch of the pitch. Ran out of steam but a fine shift.
RANDELL WILLIAMS…6.5.
Had a couple of pockets of the game, especially in the first 45 minutes, where nothing went right. But always looked the best outlet against a the forward-thinking Sorensen.
DION CHARLES…7.5.
Not much went right for him in front of goal but he refused to let his head go down, and put in a gargantuan amount of work to keep Lincoln’s defenders guessing.
VICTOR ADEBOYEJO…7.
Like Charles, you simply couldn’t judge him on goals. Had a couple of half-chances but the majority of his work was done outside the penalty box to win and keep the ball.
Subs: Bodvarsson 73 (for Adeboyejo), Dempsey 73 (for Thomason), Sheehan 80 (for Maghoma).
Not used: Ashworth, Iredale, Forrester, Jerome.
Lincoln City: Jensen; Mitchell, O’Connor, Eyoma; Sorensen, Bishop, Erahon, Roughan; Hamilton, Makama, Mandriou.
Subs: Vale 69 (for Makama), Smith 77 (for Bishop), Adelakun 90 (for Eyoma) Not used: Wright, Brown, Duffy, Shodipo.
Referee: Neil Hair 8/10 – Wanderers have had some run-ins with Mr Hair but they could have no complaints with the way he ran the game at Lincoln. The red card was the right call, even though Mandriou’s daft challenge was mis-timed, rather than malicious.
Attendance: 10,064 (1,870)
