Lostock AC members took to the streets of Lostock and Heaton to take part in the South East Lancashire Orienteering street league.
Members could select 60 minutes or 75 minutes to follow a map and answer the clues, and ran between four and seven miles trying to find the controls.
Beverly Atherton-McKenna, Janet Roses, Rachel Hancock and Rachel Stevens completed the 60-minute run.
They started well but got confused when finding one of the clues, and lost valuable time trying to work out where they were. When discovering they had taken a wrong turn, they had no option but to head back. The arrived back 10 seconds late securing a five-point penalty. This put them in last position.
There were three other Lostock teams. In the 60-minute route. Mary White and Nikki Hamerton came 18th, Karen Taylor and Katie Edern were 19th and Ian Burns, who ran with his son Lee and granddaughter Daniella, came 20th.
Other members took the event more seriously and completed the 75-minute course.
Josie Greenhalgh and Matt Withers scored the most points, achieving eighth place and covering an impressed 6.4 miles. Next came Andy Laycock and Ian Johnson in 14th place, followed by Greg Kilshaw and Mark Shuttleworth in 15th.
Mark Checkley was the only Lostocker to race last weekend.
Despite the snow, Checkley travelled to Tintwistle to compete in the Gravy Pud Fell Race.
This is a 5.5-mile run with an elevation gain of 1,125 feet, and he completed the race in an impressive 1hr 13mins 35secs.
