Wanderers’ potential opponents in the EFL Trophy round of 32 have been revealed following the final round of fixtures.

Ian Evatt’s men finished top of Group E, picking up maximum points following wins against Salford, Manchester United Under-21s and Stockport. This means the Whites are guaranteed a home tie in the first knockout round.

The competition remains regionalised at this stage and the northern section has been split into two separate draws. Bolton will come up against Liverpool Under-21s, Port Vale, Nottingham Forest Under-21s or Fleetwood.

The draw is set to take place at 6.30pm on Friday, November 24. It will be broadcast live on Sky Sports News and hosted by Michelle Owen alongside Jermaine Beckford and Clinton Morrison.

Evatt’s men are aiming to become the first side to win the competition two years in a row following their 4-0 triumph against Plymouth in last season’s final at Wembley.

Nearly 80,000 supporters were in attendance as Kyle Dempsey, Dion Charles, Elias Kachunga and Gethin Jones struck against the Pilgrims. The Whites also overcame the likes of Portsmouth and Accrington en route to the trophy.

Knockout ties will go straight to penalties if the scores are level after 90 minutes up until the final, which will feature extra time if necessary.
