Wanderers could secure top spot when they make the short trip to Stockport in their final EFL Trophy group fixture.
The Whites took maximum points from their opening couple of fixtures following victories against Salford and Manchester United Under-21.
Ian Evatt’s men have already booked their place in the knockout stage, but finishing top of Group E would ensure a home tie in the next round.
Stockport are also through to the knockout stage but currently sit two points behind Wanderers after drawing against United’s youngsters, missing out on a bonus point after losing the resulting penalty shootout.
The Hatters sit top of League Two and have won 13 successive matches in all competitions following Saturday’s 4-2 victory at Swindon. Will Collar, Kyle Wootton, Odin Bailey and Callum Camps were all on target for Dave Challinor’s side.
When and where is the game being played?
The fixture takes place at Edgeley Park on Tuesday, November 14 (7.30pm).
Wanderers were knocked out of the FA Cup on their last trip to Edgeley Park in November 2021 following a 5-3 defeat after extra time. Evatt’s side led 3-1 that night thanks to Elias Kachunga and Amadou Bakayoko, as well as an Ash Palmer own goal.
The Whites’ last victory in the fixture came in January 2002 when Gudni Bergsson, Henrik Pedersen and Michael Ricketts all got on the scoresheet, plus a Karin Fradin own goal.
