WANDERERS (3-5-2).
NATHAN BAXTER…6.5.
Didn’t really need to exert himself too much, with a couple of routine saves. A comfortable afternoon’s work against one of his former loan clubs.
WILL FORRESTER…7.5.
Thunderous header to open his goalscoring account for Bolton and went close with a cheeky chip later in the game too. Didn’t give anything away cheaply in defence.
RICARDO SANTOS…6.5.
Great to see him plundering a goal, which came at a vital stage in the game. Rested for the second half to keep him fresh for Shrewsbury.
JACK IREDALE…7.
Had the space to push on and get involved further forward and used the ball well on his return to the team. Will be a good boost to confidence.
GETHIN JONES…7.
Probably should have scored with a header after Maghoma’s shot hit the bar – but Jones kept getting forward and linked up well with the likes of Morley and Thomason.
AARON MORLEY…7.5.
Two laser-accurate corners, always trying to pass and prise open a stubborn Solihull defence. Looking like he is enjoying his football again.
PARIS MAGHOMA…8.
Picked up spaces that nobody else could and had that touch of unpredictability on the ball that made him very difficult to deal with for the visiting defenders.
GEORGE THOMASON…7.
Just loves a tackle, doesn’t he? Won the physical battle in midfield and always looked to be positive in possession.
RANDELL WILLIAMS...7.
Could have had a penalty in the first half after a clever corner routine, and got himself into some good positions down the left.
DAN NLUNDULU…6.5.
Only really got the one chance to get a goal, and that was largely of his own making. Worked hard, held the ball up well.
JON DADI BODVARSSON…7.
Like Nlundulu, would have liked a few more clear-cut chances, but he did show some touches of class in the build-up which show he is getting back to his best.
Subs: Toal 6.5, 46 (for Santos) – Very comfortable half.
Jerome 6, 65 (for Nlundulu) – Should have had a penalty.
Mendes Gomes 6, 65 (for Maghoma) – Good to see him back.
Charles 71 (for Bodvarsson), Matheson 76 (for Jones).
Not used: Hutchinson, Sheehan, Dacres-Cogley, Adeboyejo.
Solihull Moors (5-4-1): Simkin; Craig, Clarke, Morrison, Stearman, Newton; Maycock, Labadie, Osbourne, Mafuta; Beck.
Subs: Stevens 56 (for Maycock), Warburton 56 (for Labadie), Brogan 69 (for Craig), Ryley 75 (for Beck).
Not used: Gordon, Kelly, Flahavan.
Referee: Scott Simpson 4/10 – Things were ticking along well enough until the last 10 minutes of the game when two fairly straightforward penalty appeals were turned down and the softest of soft red cards were issued to Moors captain Osborne.
Attendance: 5,523.
