Nelson Khumbeni and Max Conway played 90 minutes as Fylde beat Oldham 3-0 to climb off the bottom of the National League table.
The Bolton duo joined the Coasters on loan earlier this month in search of regular playing time in men’s football.
Fylde ended a five-game winless run in the league by beating Micky Mellon’s side, with Jon Ustabasi bagging a brace and Josh Kay also getting on the scoresheet.
Chris Beech, who took interim charge of the side earlier this month following Adam Murray’s sacking, was delighted with their performance at Mill Farm.
“The players were excellent. They represented hard work, honesty, energy and quality,” he told the club’s YouTube channel.
“I think we have got good players but they’ve not been able to express that as a group. A team wins together and you are only as strong as your weakest point.
“It’s a good day for the club and I am really pleased for everyone attached to it. I am pleased to get the three points, but I am more pleased that the players’ efforts have been reflected.”
Gerald Sithole is also currently playing in the non-league pyramid, having extended his Altrincham loan by a further month.
Head of Academy Dave Gardiner is pleased the Wanderers youngsters gaining valuable experience in men’s football.
He says it also provides opportunities for members of the Under-18 squad to step up and show what they can do in the B Team, which was the case against Huddersfield in the Central League Cup last week.
“It is a fantastic opportunity for them, with where they are at in their development, to go out and play men’s football,” Gardiner told The Bolton News.
“That is what is right for them and it opens up opportunities. We had a first-year scholar start, Harry Leigh. I think we finished the game with four or five scholars on the pitch.
“That is credit to the players coming through but also it allows the boys to see we have got a pathway at this football club.”
