Bolton Ironman has confirmed the date its annual race will return to the town next year.
Competition organisers have announced the annual UK Race Calendar is confirmed, with the event set to return to Bolton on Sunday, June 30.
Traditionally, Bolton Ironman involves a 2.4-mile swim at Pennington Flash, a 112-mile ride across the region and a 26.2-mile run around the town centre.
Ironman Bolton has been a fixture in the borough since 2009 and is estimated to bring in almost £4m to the local economy.

This year’s winner, Tom Rigby, crossed the finish line in just nine hours and thirty-eight minutes. Erica Booth was the first female finisher, in a superb time of 11 hours and seven minutes.
Earlier this year, it was announced the event would be slashed in half from 2024 onwards to format which will be known as Ironman 70.3 Bolton, in reference to its distance.
Following Ironman events will take place in Swansea on Sunday, July 14, Weymouth on Sunday, September 15 and Wales on Sunday September, 22.
Leader of Bolton Council, Cllr Nick Peel said: “IRONMAN UK has been an incredible race and has enabled us to showcase the Bolton area across the country and the wider world.
“There’s always an incredible buzz around the town on race weekend, and we are very excited to continue to host a great IRONMAN race in our town.

“We look forward to the 2024 IRONMAN 70.3 Bolton, alongside IRONKIDS and Night Run, as we continue to show what a great part of the world it is to come racing, and we hope we can attract a new generation of triathletes to our town.”
